Walking speed and limits

Your target pace, the floor and the ceiling, and the loop that keeps the account honest.

The target speed

Walking speed is the pace you want the account to show, in kilometres an hour. The slider and the box beside it are the same setting, so either one moves the other.

A gentle stroll is around 3 km/h, a normal walk is about 5, and a brisk one is 6 or 7. Much above that reads as running to anything looking at the data.

Lowest and highest

The two speed limits are a floor and a ceiling for what actually gets sent. Randomness and the correction loop nudge the pace around, and the limits keep those nudges inside a range you are happy with.

They apply to every point and to every stretch, so one odd point can never shoot past the ceiling.

Randomness and correction

Randomness spreads each value a little so a run does not arrive as a flat line. The percent is how far a value may stray from the target.

Every five minutes the app looks back at the last stretch and adjusts the next one, so the average lands where you asked even though each point differs.
