Getting started
What GoWalker does, and the shortest path from a fresh account to data landing in Google Fit.
What this is
GoWalker makes walking data and sends it to a Google Fit account. It fills in distance, steps, calories, and activity time at a speed you choose, for as long as you want it to run.
It works as an autowalker for pkego, pkimini, and games from knifeantic and scoperly that read Google Fit, and as a tool for fitness debugging and health debugging.
People use it to try out apps and games that read Google Fit, to test a fitness feature without walking every route by hand, to fill a quiet patch in their own history, or to see what a day of data looks like before building something on top of it.
Your first run
Sign in, give a session a short name, and press Connect a Google account. Google asks you to sign in and to allow the permissions the app needs, then brings you back here.
Open Settings on the new session, pick a walking speed and a run length, and save. Press Run now and watch the log fill in. Data shows up in the Fit app within a minute or two.
Worth knowing early
Your Google sign ins are kept privately by this site, never shown on any page, and only ever sent to Google.
Google keeps everything you upload. Deleting a session here removes the sign in and the settings, and it does not remove data that already went up.
